According to Xbitlabs, Rory Read, CEO of AMD, told members of the IT Supply Chain Conference that “We are ramping 28nm [products] with TSMC in Taiwan and shipping the products here and now. We are very excited about the products”
This is very good news for AMD so far considering their delays with the introduction of Bulldozer CPUs earlier this year. Additionally, this also means that AMD will be the first to introduce next generation graphics cards and will have a head start over their Nvidia counterpart who’s expected to release their 600 series Kepler gpus in Q2 2012. The new Radeon HD7000 series is expected to be formally unveiled at CES 2012.
