When Razer first unveiled their Naga MMO gaming mouse in 2009, it was quite possibly the craziest yet most functional mouse designs most of us have ever seen. Sporting a 12 button thumb grid, the side buttons were a blessing to many MMO gamers who wanted to assign more macros on mice which at the time contained only a mere 2-4 extra macro buttons tops. These days, a whole slew of gaming peripheral companies have produced their own variations of the Naga and it seems like Razer isn’t taking the competition sitting down.
Recently, Razer announced the Naga 2014 MMO Gaming Mouse which features a number of improvements over the nearly 5 year old original design. Among the updates is the ergonomics of the mouse. Whereas the old Naga had a more narrow design, the latest Naga has a “… broader shape offering the best feel and comfort to a wider range of hand types.” Additionally, ” The fourth and fifth finger rest has a gentler down-slope to promote better grip and reduce fatigue over extended play.” and “Razer’s latest Naga also features a tilt-click scroll wheel that clicks in and out and also left and right, disposing more buttons for gamers”.
Razer is also improving the thumb grid as well as it’s “…now outfitted with mechanical switches for increased tactility, speed and actuation assurance. Each button on the thumb grid stands out more pronounced than previous generation models to allow for blind-finding, letting gamers more easily execute commands.”

The original MMO gaming mouse, the Razer Naga was announced in 2009 and helped launch a new line of gaming mice that many have imitated but none have matched.
