It’s been a rough year for AMD, but it seems like their problems are about to get a bit bigger.
Quanta Computer Inc., the world’s largest OEM maker of notebook computers just filed a lawsuit on AMD for selling defective chips. Quanta claims that the chips sold by AMD did not meat heat tolerances and were unfit for their particular purposes.
Quanta cites that these defective chips caused computers made for NEC to malfunction, presumably from heat. Quanta also makes notebook computers many other big players in the notebook arena such as HP, Dell and Acer.
AMD on the other hand “…disputes the allegations in Quanta’s complaint and believes they are without merit”
Looks like we’ve got a battle of the titans here people.
