According to a recent blog post by Jeremy Horwitz, iLounge Editor in Chief, the next generation iPad, the iPad 3, “…resembles the iPad 2 that differences are only obvious when they’re placed next to each other. From the back, you could walk past this new iPad on display and have no idea that anything had changed.”
Mr. Horowiz however does mention a couple of minor differences. The iPad 3 will be about 1mm thicker than its predecessor and the rear camera appears to be larger. Given the recent history of the iPhone 4 successor, the iPhone 4S, a minor refresh and re-branding of the iPad 2 is definitely plausible.
No official word on pricing of the new iPad (Although we’re guessing there won’t be much change), but DigiTimes has previously reported that the iPad 3 will be released in March 2012. No exact dates have been announced, but Pegatron Technology is among the companies fulfilling orders of the new iPad.
