Apple and Nokia have reportedly settled a patent dispute where Nokia claims that Apple had utilized 32 of Nokia patents without paying licensing fees. As a part of the settlement, Apple has agreed to pay Nokia an upfront fee as well as any long-term patent licensing fees.
Following the patent dispute, both Apple and Nokia have moved beyond the lawsuits and are now pursuing a more synergistic relationship. As a part of their re-kindled friendship, Nokia’s Withing fitness products are now back in Apple’s retail and online stores with the two companies also hinting at a possible collaboration in digital health technology.
