Those of you interested in buying a brand spanking new Radeon HD 7000 series graphics card, it’s time because AMD has started another round of price cuts to help give you another reason to pull the trigger.
According to a recent article over at AnandTech, “The Radeon HD 7970, Radeon HD 7950, and Radeon HD 7870 are all getting official price cuts starting Monday (although it seems like the price cuts are already in effect). The 7970 will be dropping from $479 to $429, the 7950 from $399 to $349, and the 7870 from $349 to $299.” Additionally, the HD 7850, the HD 7770, and the HD 7750 may also be getting price cuts as well with the 7850 is dropping ~$10 to ~$239, the 7770 is dropping ~$20 to ~$119, and the 7750 is dropping ~10 to only ~$99.
Taking a quick look at prices on Amazon, it seems like most of the graphics cards are already either at MSRP or lower than MSRP, so it may either suggest that prices have already been cut or further cuts are going to take place in the coming days.
Current lowest pricing (Amazon):
- Diamond AMD Radeon HD 7970 – $439.99 (Pricing already below price cut)
- Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 – $339.99 (Pricing already below price cut)
- XFX Radeon HD 7870 Double D – $299.99 – $20 Rebate = $279.99 (Pricing already below price cut)
- MSI Radeon HD 7850 Twin Frozr II – $239.99 (Pricing at price cut)
Strangely enough, currently the best sellers on Amazon suggest that the most popular Radeon graphics cards on the market are still the last generation Radeon HD 6850, Radeon HD 6870, Radeon HD 6670, Radeon HD 5450 and the Radeon HD 6950.
