Make no mistake, Ivy Bridge is coming soon and while it’s compatible with current Intel 6 series chipsets, many companies such as MSI have begun developing and bringing 7 series chipsets which allows support for some Ivy Bridge only features such as PCI-E 3.0 and native USB 3.0.
At CES, MSI is currently showcasing two of their newest boards, the Z77A-GD65 and the Z77A-GD80. Both of these boards will be based off the Z77 chipset which is built to fully support all of Ivy Bridge’s features. They will also feature MSI’s Military Class III components, PCI-E 3.0, ClickBios II and more! These boards are currently still a work in progress however, MSI has begun showing off their latest products and they should be ready for Ivy Bridge’s Q2 launch.
No word on pricing or availability, but the boards are available below for your viewing pleasure. They both sport MSI’s blue and black pcb color scheme so they’re actually quite good looking too!
