With the success of Synology’s first entry into the router market, the Synology RT1900ac, Synology wasted no time developing an even faster, more powerful successor, the Synology RT2600AC.
First announced at Computex earlier this year, the Synology RT2600AC features Synology’s in-house Router Manager OS, a dual core 1.7GHz processor and the latest 802.11ac Wave 2 certified radios with MU-MIMO support. This combined with the 4×4 MIMO antenna configuration would give the router a theoretical maximum bandwidth of up to 2.6Gbps.
At the time, a launch date was still unavailable however, according to a recent announcement, Synology will be releasing the RT2600AC in Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Taiwan immediately with additional regions following in early January 2017. Pricing information is still unavailable at this time. More information about the Synology RT2600AC can be found on Synology’s website here.
