Toshiba recently announced the SG5 series SSDs designed for the client space. The new SG5 series SSDs will utilize Toshiba 15nm TLC (Triple Level Cell) NAND along with a custom Toshiba controller solution. Toshiba’s controller solution features Toshiba’s proprietary QSBC error correction algorithms. Performance on the SG5 is rated at up to 545 MB/s sequential reads and 388 MB/s sequential writes.
The Toshiba SG5 will be available in both 2.5″ 7mm SATA or M.2 SATA form factors and will be available in capacities of up to 1TB. The Toshiba SG5 is expected to sample in 1Q2015.
